Three Things To Know About the Bowery Collection
Companies that have relied on Laura Davidson.
Great chair for the price
Overall, this is a great chair for the price (especially with the 10% discount code). I bought this chair because I needed a comfy ergonomic chair at my partner's place whenever I came to visit for the week that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I typically sit on a Herman Miller Aeron and an Autonomous ErgoChair Pro when I'm at home (one for my office space, one for my gaming space). I definitely prefer those chairs but they are also more expensive (especially the Aeron). Bowery has made a pretty good chair for a reasonable price and to compare it to something like the Aeron wouldn't do it justice. I do have a few reasonable issues with the chair that I hope Laura Davidson fixes in the future. Cons: 1.) Arm Rests: Not the most comfortable and they're pretty small and slim. The arms are ONLY adjustable by the height and fixed at a particular position. I feel like my arms are always laying at the inner-end of the arms which isn't the most comfortable. I'd love it if L.D. made the arms adjustable by depth (in, out, left, right) and made the arms compatible with the current L.D. models so it's as easy as replacing the current arms instead of getting brand new chairs. 2.) Tension: I really like a chair with high-tension but not to the point where it is locked... I feel like my L.D. the chair isn't able to achieve a high level of tension/resistance when leaning back. It feels like you have to turn the tension knob ALOT just to notice a slight difference. Pros: 1.) Price - Very reasonable 2.) Comfy - The back and butt cushion are very comfy 3.) Style - Very simple and sleek 4.) Easy to put together! I'm picky about my chairs and if you're not trying to look for an after-market chair and is under $400, Laura Davidson Bowery is probably my go-to pick. I think this would be a perfect 5/5 if the arms and tension were more in my favor but definitley not enough to sway me from reccomending this to someone.
I could go on for hours talking about how amazing this chair is. I am a web developer, which requires sitting at my desk for long periods of time. My previous chair was a gaming chair, which was not comfortable. I was in need of something supportive for my back, yet stylish to match my home office aesthetic. I sat in this chair for not even 10 seconds and instantly fell in love. My posture instantly improved, and it is so study feeling compared to the last chair I had. The assembly was super quick and easy too! DEFINITELY worth the investment. This is the chair for a lifetime. Thank you !!!!
Switched from Aeron to Bowery
Glad I switched. Maybe it's just me, but the Aeron turned out to be really uncomfortable. So, I looked at a ton of alternatives based on the dimensions I want, and gave the Bowery a shot. With two modifications, it's great for me. First, I put the arm wrests on backwards, so they angle back. I just find that puts them in the right place for me. Second, I bought some very discreet neoprene arm wrest pads to save my elbows. They look like they were meant to be there, and they make a huge difference.
Surprised at just how quality it is, given the price :)
This is the first time I have ever spent over $150 on a chair. That said, it was 10000% worth it! The lumbar support is just what my back needed. The color is wonderful ( I got Blue). I had a delay (due to FedEx, not the company) and contacted the Laura support and had a response within the hour. This is simply the chair for me :)
Actually, a very good chair
I tried few brands HM Aeron, Haworth Very, Steelcase Think - they all gave me a lower back pain. Before buying this chair, I used DX Racer, which is fine for gaming, but I feel it does not promote a good posture. Have not tried HM Sayl, I think it is terribly overpriced, so gave Bowery a try. I am a bigger guy and this chair actually works for me very well. I like the posture and ,my back does not give me troubles. Just a shorter person does not find the arm-rests comfortable, as they are a little too forward, it would be cool if they are forward/backward adjustable.
